Thrivent Financial for Lutherans grant available
We are pleased to announce that Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has made grant money available to help with the registration cost for the Sacred Practice Leadership Series. (Since the grant is from a Lutheran fraternal organization, it is only available to Lutheran participants.) The money is designated primarily to help lay leaders attend the series. A registration reduction of up to $1,000 per congregation is available on request, with a demonstration of need.

This grant assumes that most pastors should be able to cover the cost of the series by using their annual continuing education allowance. Many congregations do not have budgeted amounts for continuing education for lay leaders, so Thrivent's grant graciously allows us to make it more possible for lay leaders to attend as well. However, congregations that do not have sufficient resources to send their pastor can also apply for this grant.

To apply for the grant, write to Dwight DuBois at the Center for Renewal: ddubois@gvc.edu. Please include a summary of your congregation's budget, and the amount of assistance that you are requesting.

Lutherans in need of funds to attend SPLS are also encouraged to contact their synod office to inquire about funds that might be available for continuing education and/or congregational revitalization.
