What is the Alban Institute?
Alban is an interfaith not-for-profit organization that acts as an independent center of learning and innovation. We connect congregational leaders with the most creative people, ideas, and resources to fulfill their high callings. Alban builds up congregations and their leaders to be agents of grace and transformation to shape and heal the world. Our work involves interpreting, synthesizing, generating, and disseminating knowledge that is of value to congregational leaders. We provided consulting services, conduct research, create vibrant learning environments, and publish resources such as books, videos, and Web sites.
Is the Alban Institute connected with a particular denomination?
Alban exists to build up congregations and their leaders from across a variety of denominations and traditions. We create safe places where people from diverse backgrounds can learn together. Though our "DNA" is rooted in mainline Protestantism, Alban is a place of cross fertilization and innovation.

Can I buy books or attend Alban Institute events if I am not a member of the Alban Institute?
Yes. However, as a member you would be able to take advantage of substantial discounts on books and learning events. You would also receive our award-winning magazine, Congregations, and updates about our latest research.
