Five Challenges for the Once and Future Church

Loren B. Mead

Mead presents five key challenges facing today’s churches and how they represent opportunities for the evolutionary, transformative changes he believes must take place in congregations if the church is to remain a viable institution into the twenty-first century. Readers of Mead's Once and Future Church and Transforming Congregations for the Future will want to continue the journey begun with those books. A must for congregational leaders at all levels.

Praise for the Book

“Loren Mead's Five Challenges for the Once and Future Church is wonderfully honest and original. It poses questions that every thoughtful American should face and ponder. He tackles the most troubling issues with unflinching courange and answers them in a beautifully direct, down-to-earth style.” —John W. Gardner

“This book is for all of us who love the church, who work for the church's building up, who want the church to be faithful, and who know that the church matters.” —John M. Buchanan
