Facilitator:
Susan Beaumont
The seminar is scheduled to begin on November 3rd with lunch at noon and end after lunch on November 5th.
Just when you thought you’d mastered the basics of leading a congregational system a new ministry opportunity presents itself. Suddenly you are supervising the work of a multi-staff team and find yourself facing all new demands and expectations.
This is the workshop for you, designed for the staff leader who has stepped up to multi-staff leadership for the first time. Topics include
- Stepping up to the role requirements of large church leadership
- Understanding the impact of temperament type in team supervision.
- Getting the right people onto your team
- Finding the right interface between covenantal and employment relationships
- Setting performance expectations and conducting a performance appraisal
- Dealing with chronic underperformance
- Learning how to let employees go
- Renegotiating staff roles and responsibilities as needs evolve
The ideal time to participate in this seminar is during the first two years of supervisory responsibility. It also often works well for the long-tenured pastor who wants to revisit the basics of supervision.
