Clergy Wellness: How to Balance Ministry and Life

May  4, 2010 – May  6, 2010
Techny Towers Conference and Retreat Center , Techny, Illinois

Facilitator: Larry Peers

Commuter  COMMUTER SPECIAL: $225 INCLUDES ALL MEALS!

The seminar begins at noon with lunch on the first day
and ends after lunch on the last day.

Could you use just a little help in balancing your physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual health as a clergy person?  We thought so!

Ordained ministry is a complex mixture of life, work, faith and evaluation.  Getting a fix on one’s ministry can be an elusive, challenging, and difficult task.

Vitality in ministry over the long haul is rarely possible without periodic stocktaking and renewal – and without setting some specific, informed directions for your ministry and your life.

This workshop is designed to guide you through a review of your ministry with the aid of some self-assessment instruments. We will explore some coaching tools and processes, with peer- and individual-coaching to be held as needed.

Set aside three days for yourself  as you

  • Get “a fix” on your ministry with the aid of key theories and recent research
  • Learn to use some coaching tools for identifying and working on specific goals
  • Recall your original call to ministry and discover new ways to renew that vitality
  • Set directions for the future that help balance your ministry and renew your life

You will leave this workshop able to identify the current strengths and liabilities you bring to your ministry and thus with a clearer sense of yourself both professionally and personally.  You, and your congregation, and your family and friends will be glad you decided to take care of yourself like this.
